Sharing a tip on creating some interesting looks with lighting. I bring fairy lights along with me to shoots. This is an inexpensive way to add a little extra to your images (as shown in my video below). Recently, I've been incorporating colored LED lights into my shots with gels and really digging the effects. When I did my shoot with Meka La Creme, I used both red and pink lights. You can find lights like this at Target or Big Lots (or wait till Christmas stuff goes on sale and hit up the lights section of stores!).
Baking and prepping for Christmas lunch tomorrow, I was reminded of Colleda. This sweet maiden goddess was a Serbian solstice goddess. Her merry personality can be seen in the bright light of the burning Yule log, as she represented the promise of a return of the spring sun and new growth. Children went door to door asking for sweet cakes from her worshipers since the delicious treats were pleasing to the goddess.
